Conformed To His Image

The Lord has already equipped you to exceed in all things through His Spirit. When we praise our God, we must focus on His magnificence and His greatness which surpasses all.

God created Adam in His image and after His likeness. Adam lost that dominion through disobedience. The image of God lost its glory and power. Christ Jesus not only restored the dominion to us who believe in Him but also re-generated us into His image. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

With the fall, the first man lost dominion over the earth but the second man, Jesus Christ, not only received dominion and authority over the earth but also over the heavens.

Matthew 28:18 -- Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

When we are born again by His Spirit, we are a new creation in Christ. Every hold of Adam has passed away and we are now created in the image of the last Adam. The hold of the Old Covenant law has passed away and the law of God is now written in our hearts. The Old Covenant has passed away and we are now in the New Covenant established in His blood.

As we renew our minds and are transformed, in the depths of understanding and knowing Him; the living image of Christ is formed in us. That means we share in His divine nature of holiness, power, and excellence.

Romans 8:29 -- For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

"Conformed to the image of his Son" — this is God's desire, His ultimate desire for His people. This is His intention for the body of Christ. Christ was slain before the foundation of the world for this reason.

Revelation 13:8 -- and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain.

Being like Christ is the reason for our existing experiences, our trials, and our suffering. The Spirit of the Lord is at work in us with one thing to display — conformity to the image of His Son.

Moving before time, "foreknew, and "predestined," on to "the generations of the ages," to the understanding of being "conformed to the image of his Son."

The preceding verse declares this — God is working all things for good with those who are called according to His purpose. One purpose - the sole purpose and nothing else.

What is the good in all things working together? What is good in the suffering and trial that we go through? The good is just this - God forming His Son in us. His Son is our hope of glory. God's glory is to be unveiled in the saints through sonship.

This is the hope for the entire creation which was, "subjected to futility... in hope."

Romans 8:20 -- For the creation was subjected to futility – not willingly but because of God who subjected it – in hope

We are groaning travailing in hope. The hope is Christ - God's Son and this hope is the revealing of that Son in the saints.

Colossians 1:27 -- God wanted to make known to them the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

We are a new creation, His body - members of Him who called us out of the darkness and into His marvelous light.

Each of us is a unique likeness of His glory. Everything we do, say and pursue from now must reveal Christ and His divine greatness and the riches of His glory. It is our time and generation in Christ.

Wishing you all -- time to prosper and be in health in the body even as your soul prospers in the Lord.
